As Coppin Academy’s Physics Teacher, Ligaya B. Diculen, introduces Coppin Academy students to robotics, LAIA assists with identifying potential areas of research, curricula ideas, and material/equipment.
Mathethletics @ UMD:
Members of LAIA’s faculty team partner with University of Maryland, College Park’s Mathletics Program with the goal of bringing the project to Coppin beginning Summer 2020. Mathletics is a daily, 3-week summer camp for middle school students hosted at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) under the Maryland Institute for Minority Achievement and Urban Education (MIMAUE), a division of the College of Education at UMCP. Students are engaged in daily athletic activities that engage students in the application of mathematics to professional athletics.
